For cold use, the Fomentek Bag can be filled with cold tap water and stored in the refrigerator. The Fomentek Bag can be made into an ice pack by filling it with an alcohol/water mixture and placing it in the freezer for 8-12 hours. Fomentek Bags are made of a double layer of a space age plastic which is soft and pliable yet, strong enough to support the weight of over 400 pounds. Massage oils, cleaners, and solvents will not harm the Fomentek Bag. Water should never be used warmer than is comfortable to touch (110° to 113 °F).
